League Report Sunday 30th January

The quarter final line-up of the KO Cup is now complete with Windmill and Sun FC completing the line-up. Windmill defeated Venture Albion 3-0 whilst Sun FC beat Leisureland 5-0. The quarter finals take place on Sunday.

Moving onto the league and Camden Tavern remain in pole position following their 2-0 win at Gorleston Rangers. They are on top courtesy of a plus 5 better goal difference from Gt Yarmouth Sunday who drew closer thanks to their emphatic 8-1 win at Memphis Belton.

Next come El Sol who were made to work hard for the points at Burgh Castle where they beat Star & Garter 4-2 whilst Acle Wanderers sit comfortably in mid table following their 5-3 win against neighbours Hembsy 5-3.

The title race in the second division look intriguing as four teams all sit on 28 points with the top three all playing the same games.

Yarmouth White Sox return to the top on goal difference thanks to their 10-2 win at Carpathians. They are ten goals better off than Martham who were handed a home walkover due to Gorleston Albion Reserves failing to raise a side.

Previous leaders Camden Tavern Reserves drop to third as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Gorleston Rangers in a bad tempered game which saw Camden reduced to 9 men.

Bohemians are fourth but from two games more as they won 6-2 against Mariners Compass.

Clubs are reminded that the scores should be phoned through by the home team to Glyn Gray by no later than 6pm on the day of the match. Failure to do so will result in a fine of £25 as per rule 11b in the handbook. Glyn can be contacted on 01493 651261 or 07504 991058.

Hembsy SSC Fold

The league is sad to report the withdrawel of first division Hembsy SSC.

The club has cited the reason lack of player reliability as the main reason. Hembsy who had been struggling all season took the action as they failed to fulfil their second fixture of the season despite having 33 players registered.

The league has deleted all the records of games played to date.

League Report 24th January

El Sol were forced to replay their Norfolk Senior cup tie with Wymondham Rangers due to an administrative error and this it was the Norwich side that won scoring the solitary goal.

Windmill won through to the semi finals of the division one cup as they beat Rollesby 2-0 whilst in the second division cup there are semi final places for Martham whom defeated Gorleston Rangers 9-1 and Lichfield Arms who surprisingly beat Yarmouth White Sox 3-2.

Moving into the KO Cup and Camden Tavern eased into the last 8 with an emphatic 11-0 victory against Hembsy FC whilst their was a surprising win for Gorleston Albion in their tie at Yarmouth Sunday as they netted the only goal to win 1-0.

Their was one fixture played in the first division where Acle Wanderers went nap against Memphis Belton winning 5-0 and in the second division Camden Tavern Reserves are the new leaders following their 6-2 win against Carpathians. They have a two point advantage over Yarmouth White Sox and Martham having played the same number of games.

Sunday League Report 9th January 2011

Windmill are the new leaders of the first division following their comfortable 6-0 win against Acle Wanderers. They leapfrog El Sol who were due to be in Senior Cup action however their tie against Wymondham Rangers will now be played this week due to a waterlogged pitch.

Camden Tavern remain five points off the lead with a game in hand as they defeated Rollesby 6-1.

6-1 was also the score at Hembsy as the Sports and Social club were beaten by Gorleston Rangers. Hembsy remain rooted to the foot of the table.

Star & Garter failed to show for their game at Memphis Belton so Memphis pick up the points.

In the second division there were wins for the top two. Leaders Yarmouth White Sox ran out 11-1 victors against Leisureland whilst Martham in second inflicted a first defeat of the season on Camden Tavern Reserves as they ran out 5-3 winners and as such move above Camden into second place in the table.

Bohemians remain in fourth place following their 7-1 success at Mariners Compass whilst in fifth come Venture Albion who are having a fine season. This week they picked up maximum points following their 3-2 win at Gorleston Rangers.

There were two other games played where Sun FC won by the odd goal off 3 at Gorleston Albion Reserves and Lichfield Arms racked up a 5-1 win at Carpathians.

Due to the recent spell of bad weather and postponements clubs are asked not to request any more free weeks as these will not be granted due to the amount of games left to play.

Clubs are reminded that the scores should be phoned through by the home team to Glyn Gray by no later than 6pm on the day of the match. Failure to do so will result in a fine of £25 as per rule 11b in the handbook. Glyn can be contacted on 01493 651261 or 07504 991058.
