Sunday League Report 16th January 2011

Once more the league will have a representative in the semi finals of the Senior Cup as El Sol defeated Wymondham Rangers 2-1 at Green Lane to book a tie with Marlborough at Eaton Park on 13th February.

In the league and Windmill remain top but had to work hard for the points as they eventually defeated Star & Garter 5-3.

Rollesby are back into second following their walkover following the non arrival of Hembsy SSC.

Camden Tavern with games in hand picked up a 4-0 win at Acle Wanderers whilst Gt. Yarmouth Sunday returned from Hembsy FC with a solid 2-0 win.

Gorleston Albion also picked up maximum points after their narrow 2-1 win at Memphis Belton.

The second division title race looks an intriguing affair as leaders Yarmouth White Sox lost for the first time going down 6-3 to rivals Camden Tavern Reserves who are third.

Sandwiched in-between are Martham who eased to a 6-0 success against Venture Albion.

Another team in the hunt Bohemians dropped two points in sharing 6 goals with Gorleston Albion Reserves.

Mariners Compass picked up a 4-2 win against Carpathians whilst there was only one other goal scored in the remaining two games and that was by Lichfield Arms in their narrow win at Gorleston Rangers.

The game between Leisureland and Sun FC ended goalless.

Clubs are reminded that the scores should be phoned through by the home team to Glyn Gray by no later than 6pm on the day of the match. Failure to do so will result in a fine of £25 as per rule 11b in the handbook. Glyn can be contacted on 01493 651261 or 07504 991058.

Also all clubs have to submit a result card to registrations secretary Steve Bishop for any competitive match they play by the Wednesday following the game. Failure to do so will result in a fine of £20.

The fines and rules are clearly stated in the hand book and already this season we have had to issue several fines for clubs not adhering to the requirements of running a side within this league.
